Covid Isolation - Day 10 - Mixed results.

A day off work today, originally booked for an appointment, but obviously I can't attend anything right now. So I am making the most of it and having a rest from as much as possible.

Not a bed nights sleep, but definitely more lethargic in the mornings, possibly due to knowing I can't go out and do anything, rather than not having any energy. Had a bit of a sore knee when I got up, so decided todays activity should be low impact. So I went for a 1 hour treadmill walk instead. Slowly increasing the speed. Felt nice and low impact.
Then of course we moved onto the test. Day 10 LFT, still hoping (I'm joking) for early release. Within a few mins of starting the test, the positive line was starting to show. Ann meanwhile had also tested but was showing as negative. This is from one of the newer kits we have, which is nose and throat swabs.
Between us we have four sets of tests, two each of nose only, and nose and throat ones. I had used an older nose only. So out of interest we both tested again, this time using opposite tests. I tested with a nose and throat, newer style test. Image of the results below. You decide what you can see. The nose only tests are the shorter looking tests, both showing positive. The newer are the longer ones. Can you see a positive on the new ones? Or are you guided to see a feint line by knowing the other test was positive? Would you have read it as positive if it was a stand alone test?
All very confusing really. Either way, I am sure I am positive. But just to be awkward, my self isolation runs out tomorrow evening, so I am clear to go out from Sunday regardless.
Today I have a slight headache, and feel a bit warm, but haven't (until just now) taken any paracetamol. My actual recorded temperature is still down well within normal range. Still have a very slight cough, and bringing up a little bit of clear gunk. Nothing too serious there.

I do however feel I am still lacking energy slightly, at the higher end of the scale. General energy levels are OK, and I can function day to day without too much drama. Although being bent over, or crunched up I struggle a little more being a bit breathless. So things like floor exercises and yoga at the moment might be a bit more of an effort. We shall see as I slowly start to reintroduce them over the coming days.

Day 8 - Test time.

Nope, no suspense this time, straight up positive still.  My gentle morning walk was a bit more of an effort than expected to begin with, coughing almost immediately, but settled in OK in the end. Temperature is down to 36.6c now which is nice. I can feel the difference as its starting to drop.  4 days of isolation left now inc today, so the clock is ticking down nicely now. Can't wait to get out for some gentle exercise. Cue the shite weather!

Running outdoors resumed today.

Wow that was lovely to get back out there on two feet and see what my body had left in it. I was a little concerned about running, but I needn't have been.  Starting out nice and gently, with a simple, flat 5k being the goal, I felt better than expected from the off. Setting out a little faster than planned, I eventually just settled into a 10.15min/mile average and kept it there. Giving things a chance to warm up a bit, inc my body as it was a bit chillier than I thought! Much to my surprise my lungs were fine, breathing wasn't a struggle in any way, and my HR remained under control, falling nicely after any inclines.  One thing I did notice throughout the day post run was a cough. Not bad, nothing serious, but more frequent that it has been for the past few days. That said, its productive, so that's a good thing. Clearing that chest up nicely now. Oh and sore legs! Still achy this evening, after such a short run, haha!  So that's me, let's see how I feel in the mo

Day 2 - Update - And its gone!

Sense of smell.... 2 hours ago I could smell the chocolate on the KitKat I was eating... Now... Nothing. Just stuck a bottle of Olbas oil right under my nostrils, and the best I got was the burning on the back of my throat as I inhaled deeply.  Cor this is strange! Lol.  PS I feel like poo!
